Spontaneously conceived by a group of young musicians with a great love for music, a yearning to enjoy it and, in turn, the desire to achieve a set of remarkable quality, Kup Taldea begins its journey in the spring of 2003. This dream became a reality thanks to teacher Gabriel Baltes, professor of choral conducting the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country Musikene, whose leadership provides assurance for professional work.
Team members, musicians who, despite their youth, have extensive experience in choral and music education major at every level, are conducted by Gabriel Baltes on quality work and accuracy, targeting major works interpreting, both in its technical complexity and in its musical significance. We must note here that the participants of the choir come from all parts of the Basque Country (Donostia- San Sebastian, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Irun, Bilbao, Tolosa and more..)
The choir has participated in different cycles and concerts throughout the national territory. KUP Taldea did various projects, among which we must mention the premiere of a work commissioned by the Provincial Government of Biscay to the composer Gabriel Erkoreka, organo-cycle from the venue last April. “Veni Creator Spiritus” work for chamber choir, percussion and organ.
Another of his projects ended when she released her first album with acappella sacred music from Aita Donostia. This work was presented in 2008, in the cycle organized by the San Sebastian Music Fortnight, dedicated to Aita Donostia in the museum Chillida-Leku.
In 2008 the choir has participated successfully in the international competition in Tolosa where choir has achieved 3rd prize in the folklore. From the beginning it was a dream of the choir participate in Tolosa.
